Description
AskTheCode is a handy plugin that helps you understand the structure and content of a Github repository. It's like having a personal guide who can quickly scan through a repository and give you insights about it. This can be particularly useful if you're trying to understand a new codebase, looking for specific information in a large repository, or just want to get a quick overview of a project's structure.
How to use:
- Find the Github repository you're interested in. This is the codebase you want to explore. It could be a project you're working on, or something new you're trying to learn.|||
- Copy the URL of the repository. This is the web address that you see in your browser's address bar when you're looking at the repository on Github.|||
- Come back to this conversation and paste the URL. Just like you would paste a link into a text message or email, you can paste the URL right into our chat.|||
- Ask a question about the repository. You can ask about the structure of the repository, the content of specific files, or any other details you're curious about. The plugin will analyze the repository and provide an answer.|||
- Wait for the response. The plugin will take a moment to analyze the repository and generate a response. It will provide a list of all the files in the repository, and can even pull up the contents of specific files if you ask.|||
- Ask more questions if you need to. The plugin is here to help you understand the repository, so feel free to ask as many questions as you need.
